CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Dignitaries from the Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA) visited the Asian Business Cabletow Cooperative Academy (ABCCA) on November 10, Friday, to officially turnover the school’s Certificates of TVET Program Registrations.
Led by TESDA Deputy Director General, Hon. Vidal D. Villanueva III, ABCCA received its program registrations for Heavy Equipment Operations (Bulldozer) NC II, Heavy Equipment Operations (Motor Grader) NC II, Heavy Equipment Operations (Backhoe Loader) NC II, Heavy Equipment Operations (Wheel Loader) NC II, Heavy Equipment Operations (Bulldozer) NC II, Housekeeping NC II, and Computer Systems Servicing NC II.
Among other TESDA officials who graced the ceremony were Regional Director Dan M. Navarro, Provincial Director (Misamis Oriental) Marigold Cherie R. Garrido, ROD Chief Austerio V. Igot, and TESDA RTC-Tagoloan Administrator Mario S. Labisig.
In his welcome remarks, ABCCA Chairman and CEO Dr. Soc Anthony M. del Rosario extended his gratitude to TESDA for its continuous support towards the school.
“We are very thankful because TESDA is here with us. [For their] love, especially for our learners, [their] courage, dedication, and resolve to meet head on the core values of development.”
The renewed program registrations accredits ABCCA to conduct Mobile Training Programs within Region 10, enabling the school to reach more learners and provide scholarship to areas outside Cagayan de Oro City.
DDG Villanueva also spoke during the event, commending ABCCA for its efforts as a partner in its advocating the furtherance of Technical Skills education in Mindanao, especially in Heavy Equipment Operations.
“[TESDA] has always been pushing for partners in its HEO qualifications, kasi may kakulangan talaga tayo sa mga qualified and competent na mga workers. I know that with this [program], we can expect daghan nga mga lumad, IPs, and those from the marginalized sectors would land better jobs not only locally but internationally,” said DDG Villanueva, who proudly bared his roots as a member of the Talaandig Tribe from Lantapan, Bukidnon.
